The Evosys Group looks back on an eventful 2025

Despite the unstable global economic situation, the EVOSYS Group can once again look back on a successful fiscal year. The laser plastic welding technology is part of a stable growth market in the medium term, and the EVOSYS brand is well positioned in the international market as a technology leader.

The year 2025 and the preceding months presented the mechanical engineering industry with particular challenges: global competition, rising material costs, fluctuating sales figures in the automotive industry, and tariff uncertainties shaped the economic landscape. Yet it is precisely during such periods that a company’s strength is revealed.

Evosys Laser GmbH has used this time to make targeted investments in the future—both at its Erlangen location and in its international subsidiaries. The focus has been on research and development, as well as the continuous development of our employees and infrastructure. As a technology leader, we know that innovation is the key to sustainable success. Our R&D activities aim to continuously optimize existing products and create unique added value for our customers through new, patent-protected solutions. In this way, we not only secure our competitiveness but also actively shape the future of the industry.

The subsidiaries in the U.S. and China are showing encouraging progress. Particularly in the U.S. market, numerous innovative projects are currently underway, being driven forward with great momentum and successfully tested.

The start of 2026 has also been positive so far. For the EVOSYS Group, the stability and sustainability of our business are our top priorities. Rather than focusing on a single major customer and short-term profits, we have maintained a diversified business model from the very beginning. As a result, we are represented in all key industries and are less vulnerable to fluctuations in individual sectors or markets.

Evosys Laser GmbH has once again been recognized as a TOP 100 Top Innovator 2026 in the field of innovation. We were also honored to receive the BayernsBest50 award and were recognized by Kununu in the third quarter as one of the Top 3 Employers in Bavaria. A particular highlight is the “Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises 2026” from the Oskar Patzelt Foundation—we are currently in the preliminary jury stage for this award. This prestigious honor recognizes companies that set standards in the German economy through innovative strength, sustainable growth, and outstanding customer focus.

Laser Plastic Welding for Bio-Based Sports Drink Bottles: A Reliable, Automated Manufacturing Solution for Fassibottle and Evosys

Innovative material and manufacturing concepts are becoming increasingly important. A recent example of this is the bio-based sports drink bottle from Fassibottle, which will be welded in our Evosys contract manufacturing facility in the future.

The vacuum-free bottle is made from renewable sugarcane. Through targeted design adjustments, the bottle is prevented from collapsing while drinking, ensuring a consistent and unobstructed flow of liquid. At the same time, the bottle retains its shape during use, thereby meeting the requirements of many top athletes and finding particular application in cycling.

In the original product design, the valve concept in particular posed a challenge. It consisted of several individual components such as the valve, seal, and nut, which required labor-intensive manual assembly. In addition to the increased manufacturing effort, this also resulted in a functional risk: the valve could be opened by the end user, which could compromise both the seal and product safety.

To optimize the design and manufacturing process, laser plastic welding was implemented as the joining technology in consultation with Evosys and Fassibottle. This process enabled the creation of a permanent, unbreakable bond between the valve and the bottle body. The particle-free joining process ensures that no contaminants are introduced into the drinking system—a decisive advantage, particularly in the food and consumer goods sectors. Furthermore, laser plastic welding enables short cycle times and high process speeds, significantly increasing cost-effectiveness in series production.

Another advantage lies in end-to-end process integration: From the production of the bottle body and the punching of the bottle base to the insertion of the valve, subsequent welding, and final assembly, the entire production process can be efficiently and automatically managed. This reduces interfaces, minimizes sources of error, and ensures consistently high product quality.

A decade full of innovation and growth

Erlangen, May 2025: Evosys Laser GmbH proudly celebrates its

10th anniversary as a leading company in laser plastic welding joining technology. Under the creative artificial word “Evosys”, a combination of “Evolution” and “Systems”, the search for the perfect identity that has characterized the company since its foundation began in 2015. Over the past 10 years, the company has succeeded in expanding its technical expertise, overcoming global crises and writing an impressive success story.

“The most important motivating force behind our success is our employees,” emphasized Frank Brunnecker, Managing Director of Evosys, in his speech at the company’s big celebration last Friday. “Entrepreneurial action, a global outlook and regional roots combined with advanced technology are the cornerstone of this success story and have enabled us to position ourselves successfully in a constantly changing market,” Brunnecker continued. Brunnecker is particularly grateful to the original founder, Andreas Kraus, who had the courage and confidence to collaborate and establish Evosys Laser GmbH. Together with the company Intego GmbH, a specialist in optical inspection for manufacturing, as an investor, which was also convinced by the concept and determination, the company was founded.

An enormous opportunity appeared just 2.5 years after the company was founded, in 2018, when Evosys ventured abroad through a joint venture – a decision that proved to be groundbreaking for the international business. The establishment of the company’s location in China, which Andreas Kraus actively promoted locally for two years, as well as the subsequent opening of another location in the USA, clearly demonstrates the company’s global outlook. In recent years, the company has increased its export share to an impressive 70 percent, while at the same time maintaining and further expanding its location in Erlangen.

Another important milestone was reached with the move to the company’s current location in Felix-Klein-Straße in Erlangen-Bruck. Modern premises with 1,200 square meters of office space and 1,500 square meters of warehouse space provide sufficient room for further expansion. The property was finally acquired in 2023 and now provides Evosys with a secure, central company headquarters and regional roots in the dynamic Nuremberg metropolitan region for the long term.

“Evosys is the result of a successful combination of innovative technology and a motivated, passionate team,” explains Managing Director Holger Aldebert. “We are firmly convinced that our simple recipe for success will continue to be the key to our long-term success.”

While the current market mood is tense, the company remains optimistic and looks to the future with confidence. “With our first-class products and a strong team, we will overcome the challenges and continue our success story,” concludes Brunnecker.

Evosys would like to thank all employees, partners and customers for a successful decade and looks forward to shaping the next chapters of this exciting journey together.

Technology leader in the field of laser welding of plastics once again wins innovation competition

Erlangen, February 2025: Evosys Laser GmbH from Erlangen has once again come out on top in the TOP 100 innovation competition and now bears the TOP 100 seal 2025. The award is only given to particularly innovative medium-sized companies that clearly stand out from the competition in the five evaluation categories

The award is based on a scientific selection process led by innovation researcher Prof Dr Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. On behalf of compamedia GmbH, he and his team analysed the innovative strength of the participants on the basis of more than 100 test criteria, which were divided into five categories: Innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organisation, external orientation and innovation success. At its core, the TOP 100 analysis is about whether innovations are the result of structured innovation management in the companies – in other words, whether they arise by chance or whether the future is actively shaped.

EVOSYS also impressed in this year’s innovation competition and is now one of Germany’s top innovators for the fourth time. The Erlangen-based company develops and manufactures state-of-the-art systems for laser material processing of plastics. These are used, for example, in the automotive, medical technology and consumer goods industries. Laser welding of plastics is an established and widely used manufacturing process that is valued for its reliability, cleanliness and cost-effectiveness. As an energy-efficient tool, the laser shows its advantages in joining processes and is clearly superior to conventional methods.
