Prototypes
Prototype Welding and Process Validation
The prototype phase turns the application concept into practical welding results. We define the trial scope, prepare the required tooling, and perform welding trials under controlled laboratory conditions.
This phase helps verify material behavior, joint design, process stability, and component performance before moving into equipment planning. You receive welded samples and documented results for internal evaluation and decision-making.
Prototypes project phases
Weld Trial Scope
Together, we define the trial requirements, test objectives, number of samples, materials, component variants, and any functional checks required after welding.
Quote & Order Lab Work
You receive a clear quote for laboratory work, including tooling, trial time, process development, sample welding, documentation, and any agreed testing support.
Manufacture Clamp Tools
We design and manufacture application-specific clamping tools to position the components accurately and create reliable conditions for repeatable welding trials.
Welding Trials
Our application team performs the welding trials in our lab, develops suitable process parameters, documents the results, and prepares welded samples for your evaluation.
Results Follow-up Call
After the trials, we review the results with you, discuss the welded samples, answer technical questions, and define the next steps toward process optimization or equipment planning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Thermoplastic elastomers. Thermoplastics occupy a special position among polymer materials because they are both meltable and plastically deformable. These two properties make it possible to weld thermoplastics using a laser. Two parts made of the same type of thermoplastic can generally be welded without difficulty. For dissimilar thermoplastics, the basic requirements are a minimum level of chemical and thermal compatibility and an overlap of the melting ranges of the materials to be welded.
Tests can be conducted at any time. Please feel free to contact us.
You specify which parts and materials are to be welded. In consultation with us, you send us sample parts. Once the parameters have been determined, we analyze the sample parts, evaluate the weld quality, and conduct a feasibility study.
You will receive the sample parts you submitted back immediately after the tests, along with a test report.
Yes, you’re welcome to watch our experts at work in the technical center.
Yes, every test is thoroughly documented and analytically evaluated. The test report will be provided to you upon completion of the test series.
Our Technical Centre is well equipped for testing your single parts and also the welding result. For proving single parts quality before starting to weld, we can e.g. test optical properties like transmission and absorption.
Welded parts are tested for tightness and burst pressure and the weld seam itself is inspected in detail for good melting without any bubbles or overheating.
Our EvoInspect Devices are perfectly useable for any kind of tests in our technical center and also later during serial production in your facilities to ensure constant high quality of your products – just contact our team for further details.
